The little stresses in life – never ending traffic, Mondays (ugh), arguments with friends – can have a big effect on our outlook on life. It can be easy to stop being as optimistic and we can’t blame you! All of life’s uncertainties can be scary, but it’s important to keep a positive outlook – for your sanity and everyone else’s. No one wants to be a “Negative Nancy.”
Laugh It Out
One of the ways we here at the Wellington Group Marketing & PR like to push away negativity is through laughter. Crazy week got you down? Take the time to stop what you’re doing and find a friend to laugh with you. You’ll be amazed how much it will do to brighten your day. Oh and guess what? It’s also good for your health!
Count Your Blessings
Keep a journal and jot down what you’re thankful for. Stop everything you’re doing once a day and reflect on who or what you’re most grateful for. This is a great way to show yourself that, despite the little stresses that pile up, you’ve got a lot of good going on, too. One of our favorites is the 5-minute journal.
Have a Happy Folder
Sarah likes to keep a folder on her computer that’s a collection of quotes, memorable pictures and memes that inspire her or make her smile. This is great for work stresses. Have a million and ten things going on that needed to be done five minutes ago? Take a break, whip out the happy folder, and then get back to work. You’ll be amazed at how the negativity melts away.
If all else fails, Here’s a beagle apologizing to a baby.
